Twenty-five years ago, Hal Colston brought a wonderful idea to life. Why not ask people in the community to donate their old or unused cars to be repaired and awarded to families in need of reliable transportation?
Since Good News Garage was founded in Burlington, VT in 1996, safe and reliable vehicles have been award to 5,500 low-income individuals and families.
These cars put their recipients on the road to a brighter future by helping them move out of poverty and into financial independence and social stability.
To celebrate everyone who has made this possible – our donors, partner garages, dedicated staff and volunteers, and community supporters – we are hosting a 25th anniversary celebration on Thursday, September 9th from 1 – 2:30 pm at our Burlington, VT headquarters.
This will be a rain-or-shine event with the goal of hosting the event outside. Attendees will enjoy ice cream from Lake Champlain Chocolates!
