A “Silver Bullet” for Nicholas from Gardner, Massachusetts

Nicholas is a third-shift worker at a grocery store in his hometown of Gardner, Massachusetts. Without a vehicle of his own or public transportation available during the hours he works, he was walking to and from work, and everywhere else, through whatever weather New England dished out. Not only is this unsafe, but it limited how much Nicholas could work and where he could work. Doing simple things like buying groceries could also be a tall order. Thanks to a generous New England vehicle donor, Nicholas was awarded a life-changing 2003 Volkswagen Passat in January 2020.

According to an article published in The Gardner News, “Stewart…said he is grateful to be the recipient of the car that he has since nicknamed ‘Silver Bullet.'”

Good News Garage was able to award this donated car to Nicholas thanks to a generous vehicle donor and our partnership with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC). Massachusetts residents interested in applying to this program must request a referral and application from their MRC Counselor. Here is the list of Vocational Rehabilitation Area Offices.
