Dylan Car Recipient

In 2017, Dylan was a single mother trying her best to make ends meet. With a 10-month-old daughter and a job to get to, life without a reliable vehicle was making for a very rough road. She had hoped to go to school to study medical assisting, but without a car, her career goals seemed impossible. Then Dylan received some great news; her Vermont Reach Up caseworker notified her that she would be receiving a 2001 Subaru Legacy from Good News Garage through its Wheels to Work program.

Now a little over a year since she received her Subaru, Dylan is nearly finished with her medical assisting associates degree and has become a certified end-of-life doula. She hopes to start her own business.

Before receiving my GNG vehicle I was on state assistance with five kids and pregnant with my sixth. After receiving my GNG vehicle I was able to go back to work full time once my sixth child turned six weeks old. I have now been working full time for over two months and I couldn’t be happier!
