Ready To Go Program Expands Into Massachusetts

During the summer of 2018, we launched a pilot of our Ready To Go program in Worcester, Massachusetts. Ready To Go uses donated vans to transport Worcester-area individuals and families to essential life activities, including work, daycare, and education at no cost to the rider.

“We’re excited to be helping more people better their lives through reliable transportation by bringing this program to Massachusetts,” said Amy Barcomb, assistant director of operations at Good News Garage.

The Worcester pilot is the program’s first expansion outside of Vermont. Clients in Ascentria’s Services for New Americans program were some of the Ready To Go pilot’s first riders.

“A lack of access to reliable transportation is a major impediment to upward mobility, and Ready To Go is helping to bridge that gap,” explains Barcomb. “The service is already proving to be a valuable addition
to Worcester’s transportation system.”
